Update: /etc/resolv.conf still points to edns0, but wifi is working. I guess the latest Debian updates resolved my issue.

Custom OS name for Snapper snapshots?
I use Snapper on my custom Debian distro, and I want to have a custom name for the snapshots which displays in the GRUB boot menu. How do I go about doing this, and can this also be configured in Cubic so that my custom distro name displays every time I reinstall or install on another comouter? My c...

Re: The Debian "Lite" system I have created
Better to use an official Debian package like timeshift . Timeshift is a backup utility whereas Systemback creates a bootable ISO image. Personally I use fsarchiver for system backups and rsync for regular data backups, but a bootable .iso is a whole different ballgame. There are several alternativ...

Re: Wifi issue
Okay this is weird. I just rebooted, connected to my home wifi (WPA protected), and it's working. I was on the guest wifi at Kroger yesterday when I noticed the issue.
And I just tested the live distro, and my home wifi works with no problems.

Re: Wifi issue
I ram that command, and it indeed was wlan0.Bulkley wrote: ↑2022-12-28 18:23 Are you sure that edns0 is not correct? wlan0 disappeared a long time ago. My system uses wlp7s0. Try:Code: Select all
$ inxi -n
Anyway I tested the changes in my remaster, and it still points to edns0. I'll get it figured out.

Re: Wifi issue
I think I found the solution.
I edited /etc/resolv.conf to have just this line:
resolv_conf=NO
After saving and exiting, I ran sudo chattr +i /etc/resolv.conf. After a reboot, wifi is still working normally.
Now to test this in Cubic.

[Solved] Wifi issue
So whenever I log into my system, I have an issue with wifi, and it centers around my /etc/resolv.conf file. It reads as such: # Generated by NetworkManager nameserver 127.0.0.1 options edns0 trust-ad However, when I edit that file and replace "edns0" with "wlan0" and save it, wi...
