I am having the exact same issue as you but mine is an Intel NUC Skylake 6th gen CPU. When it goes to sleep, no matter what i tried the desktop wont wake up. Neither mouse or keyboard would wake the system up. The NUC's power LED is blinking yellow in colour. The only way for me is to force shutdown by pressing the power button.
Any help would be much appreciated.

[Hardware] unable to resume form sleep
I am on Debian 12. System is fully updated. The thing is when computer goes to sleep I tried to wake the system up by moving mouse or hitting the keyboard keys but it won't resume. This has forced me to shutdown and restart. Please advise what I can do to rectify it.
