Re:{Solved} All installations fail at network adpter selection

I think I will mark this thread as Solved as the issue of the network adapter has been resolved. I am going to open a new thread about the sound problem and link to this thread for reference.
Thank You to all that have helped me. The Debian community is the best!

Re: All installations fail at network adpter selection

Ok I have reinstalled everthing and system is working fine with wifi. Now on to the sound problem. Here is the output from the latest install. If you compare the output above (working sound on 12.7.0 Trixie) to the output from latest install below, the only difference in audio is the PulseAudio version witch is 16.1 in "trixe" and is Pipewire version 0.3.65 on latest install.
I have looked on backports and there is a file for the PulseAudio 16.1 version.
Can someone give some advise on how to ...

Re: All installations fail at network adpter selection

Well.....I got the wifi to work by following the instructions here: https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless ... -p/1626836
It seems that it was working fine, but no sound. I was trying to install latest audio drivers from backports and broke everything. Just have a blank black screen. So I will reinstall install latest kernal the install wifi drivers and start sound investigation. I will report back then.
Any Idea what sound drivers to use?

Re: All installations fail at network adpter selection

Update:
I have been able to install from the full 12.7 DVD installer and get to a terminal. I up upgraded to the latest kernel 6.10.11 and dependencies. But Debian is still not showing me much love. Touch pad now works, Touch screen works, but no wifi adapter and no sound. Still Searching.

Re: All installations fail at network adpter selection

I have installed the 12.7.0 amd64 dvd installer and it is true it installs, but nothing works, no touch pad, no wifi, keyboard will not tab, search at top of screen does nothing. It seem this metor-lake hardware will not accept the current divers for anything.
The drivers in 12.7.0 testing work! Not sure if they will work in stable or what dependencies it would break, but I would like to try, but I can not find them.

[Solved] All installations fail at network adpter selection

I have a New HP Envy 17.3" laptop (New Hardware) and when I try to install Debian 12, I get as far as the network adapter portion of the install the installer does not see my wifi adapter and asks if I have divers (iwlwifi) on removable media. Of course I don't.
I have been able to install 12.7.0 using the live testing media and all devices are working using kernel 6.11.4. I have been able to track down the iwlwifi drivers in backports. I guess my question is an I load these drivers to a usb ...

I just installed Debian 12 kde on new HP Envy 17.3 touch screen and after login I get this notication:
Please unset QT_IM_MODULE and GTK_IM_MODULE environment variables and 'ibus-daemon --panel disable' should be executed as a child process of ibus-ui-gtk3 component.

Re: new install no sound

I want to thank you for the help. I did update to latest kernal, reboot and sound is working. I must say backports is a little confusing. But all in all I did get the sound to work, with your guidance. Thanks again.
