Re: How to check forks (& how many) from terminal?

One poster privately messaged me a resource. I couldn't PM him, as Some users couldn’t be added as they have disabled private message receipt. I can't also name him on the forum as he desired privacy. His resource isn't copyright or private though. I shall post the link after I have gone through it ...

[solved]invoke a screensaver and xset through script

the codes, kill -STOP and kill -CONT are getting me logged out of my user-account. So hashed. The xautolock code is fairly simple. It is xautolock -time 1 -locker "xset dpms force off" From the terminal, the above code could be iteratively executed using a script as posted above, and the s...

... Don't worry, no problem. Steve is right to point out the error in my post. Although this issue went away for me, it obviously didn't for other people. I obviously made a fallacious assumption. Apologise for delay. I am sure you have noticed that I was banned for a week. Now let us get back to s...

Re: [?]invoke a screensaver and xset through script

... usual code ... Now that is the pertinent question ... Got help to modify the code a little. It is interesting to note that when the complexity of xscreensaver-demo isn't temporarily needed, why to invoke the binary, whose compressed deb file is 2310 kB and the data file is 1662 kB. Uncompressed...

Re: [?]Load directly firmware iwlwifi flavour than meanderin

What about the skl (skylake) firmware messages at the start? I'd worry more about those, to be honest, and those can be eliminated by installing firmware-misc-nonfree. Yes, True. the matter addressed with firmware-intel-sound. Restarted the system for better outcome. Yes, the skl gone, but result r...

[?]HowTo share files among Debian PCs with WiFi

Along with multiple laptops we also have a few Android smartphones. File transfer from Android smartphone to PC is fairly simple, if either of the systems uses the same WiFi network. File Manager is set up to transfer files using unique network address, port, username and password to have the files/...

Re: [?]Load directly firmware iwlwifi flavour than meanderin

The issue was not present in Buster and isn't present in Bullseye. As you seem to be using a fairly recent laptop, there are probably other issues that are likely to be fixed in Bullseye. It is probably worth considering an upgrade. Try a live CD/USB to investigate if there are any reasons not to u...

Re: [?]Are Realtek Audio Drivers for Linux available for use

You need firmware-iwlwifi, firmware-misc-nonfree and install the previously mentioned packages too. It won't hurt to have firmware installed that is not used, but not having necessary firmware will have a negative impact. dmesg | grep -e Wireless [ 6.950417] Intel(R) Wireless WiFi driver for Linux ...
