Well, if you know the processor type of your palm and you've got a lot of patience, you could compose a nice series of tools (with for example busybox) and compile it into a palmtop image. There should be plenty of information and howto's on the net. At the moment I'm busy getting a nice Debian inst...

It's a quite expensive commercial font. Dunno why they chose to use it, because I can't think of any way to legally use a vector image with that font...

I'm not on Defcon 4 with anyone, and if someone hates or wants do destroy me, that's his/her problem. I really wouldn't bother investing time in their obsession with hate.

Probably they're using Windows anyway, so the Net will do the rest by mail and trojan.

The only reason why I might have a problem with a server might be if something broke and I couldn't find a way to fix it. For example, let's say your are running a Web server and it crashes. You search all the forums and google the hell out if and still nothing. If this is a mission critical server...

At least it's stable when it's released ;)

And on Gentoo the software is outdated before you're ready compiling.

Well, not all memory not marked 'free' is actively being used. Many things are cached, for later use. Those parts of 'taken' memory will be freed as soon as the system needs it for other things.

Nothing unusual, nothing to worry about - unless the machine is starting to eat your swap...

What's the point of instantly getting new software feature releases. It's not as if your wordprocessor won't run anymore on version 5.12-1111 the day 5.12-1112 is released. As long as I get my daily dose of security patches, I don't mind waiting a little longer for a new GNOME release or something. ...

Sprucio> ...shocked... ...serious problems. ?!?!?! If the update is that important, why have you not downloaded and installed the latest version from www.mozilla.org ? Hm, not that I really care for this specific issue, but what would be the point of automatic system upgrades then, ey. ;) -Roel

Well, if you want to use two processors, first of all, you should install a SMP kernel. This enables dual processor support. SMP configured kernels can be found in Debians apt repository.

So, when configuring your kernel, don't forget to enable 'Symmectric Multi-Processing support'.

It depends on where you want to have that feature. If I recall correctly, there is such a extension for Firefox.

Well it's blind guessing, don't you agree? First, close your browser windows (and Firefox download manager), next, kill all your sound daemons: pkill -9 artsd pkill -9 esd (Dunno what sound daemon you're using.) Then, start Firefox and try again. If that won't work, it's probably not a problem with ...

I don't like intrusive messenger clients. I only Jabber around a bit, and in the Jabber area I like the feel of Gossip. Gaim, AMSN, etc. are too intrusive and too bounce-happy to be useful. But on the other hand, MSN users often like that. So for using the MSN protocol, I'd advise Gaim.

Well, you could sudo passwd root, but I don't like Ubuntu either. Quite frustrating how limiting it is, compared to a normal Debian testing/unstable install.

Let's say, I don't like other people to make choices for me...

What documentation did you read?

Use apt-cache search libname to find the desired libs, or use Synaptic or Aptitude (or any other apt-front end) to search through and install the needed libs.
