Re: Debian 12 or 13 available, or that is "sid"??

you could build your own sid iso with live-build

Code: Select all

sudo apt install live-build
lb config -d sid --debian-installer-gui true --debian-installer live
echo "task-gnome-desktop" >> config/package-lists/my.list.chroot
sudo lb build

Re: operating systems without systemd

I just updated Sid and grub gave the options to boot Debian or Debian (systemd).

I chose the former and the command

Code: Select all

cat /proc/1/comm
returns

Code: Select all

init

Re: The dumbing down of interfces continues.

The dumbing down of interfaces is getting ridiculous. Apparently, buttons with words are now too boring, or perhaps too difficult for the semi-literate to understand. Everything must now be represented by a large icon. Is that the reason? Perhaps it's aimed at people who have touchscreens and a big...

Re: Minimal "gnome classic" install in Wheezy

Gnome 3.8 is going to abandon gnome-session-fallback so looks like this set-up will not be possible in the future.

Still continuing with this - still working :D

One thing though I have disabled the notification area - the icons provided by Gnome 3 really are ugly and I can't find how to change them,

Guess I missed the 'main' part of that point.
Just wish Thunar was dual pane. Each FM I look at has a different 90% of the features I would really like. :-(
Have you looked at SpaceFM?
