Re: Debian Pains, Ping Pong support

lliv , thank you for the status report on debian. It is useful information. I have too many servers to convert and need to run init for quite some time as the scripts and cronjobs are extensive. You advice is valuable thanks. I followed the advice I found at Nixcraft and it solved my problem "...

Re: AMD RX560 on Debian Stretch - Not supported?

Yes I do.
See my post as I did not see yours.
It already solved all my bluetooth problems I had unexpectedly as well as jittery sound with Debian Stretch.
Really great distro !

Re: AMD RX560 on Debian Stretch - Not supported?

Question to Stevepusser,

Which forum do you suggest for MX18 related questions ?
The only one I could find is on LinuxQuestions.org.
Is that the main forum ?

Re: Debian Pains, Ping Pong support

$ sudo systemctl status getty@tty2.service --no-p How about cat /proc/1/comm Oh, and don't run commands as root unless specifically instructed to do so, that is a dangerous habit. I will run my systems any way I want. I have been doing so for more than 20 years with no issue. Maybe some children sh...

Re: Debian Pains, Ping Pong support

That is fine, but if it is included in the distro it must work, not be abolished and ping pong working on and off with every other debian distribution.

Then dont give a crap and ignore the post. Not acceptable You do know there are no Debian developers here, right? I know that I couldn't give a flying crap about what you consider to be acceptable, nor do I care which operating system you use  As to your reequeest. $ sudo systemctl status g...

Re: Debian Pains, Ping Pong support

Is it also now standard on all default Debian window managers that the Control+ALT+F1-9 keys are now just nonchalantly switching virtual desktops and not give me a single virtual terminal as it used to do for ages. This is crucial as I run critical scripts I need to monitor in those so that they are...

Re: AMD RX560 on Debian Stretch - Not supported?

Stevepusser What I am going to try and do is to manually install everything needed from the dpkg -l of my existing system and install it on the new MX18 installed distro that works great with my RX560. I just want to know if I can use the following real time kernel with MX18 with headers namely linu...

Re: AMD RX560 on Debian Stretch - Not supported?

Thank you Steve. I will try this and upgrade the kernel. I will have to find a current version RT kernel though as my apps depend on it. That is completely a different issue, but I am sure going to try your suggestions first. BTW I really like MX 18. Very nice lightweight distro and I will move some...

Re: AMD RX560 on Debian Stretch - Not supported?

Thank you steve. Great post thanks. 1) I will immediately try MX18 as you suggest on a separate partition and live before that., but it would be nice if I could use option (2) on stretch as I have all my software working painstakingly.. 2) I will also try stretch backports on the current stretch and...

Re: AMD RX560 on Debian Stretch - Not supported?

Probably you need to install this package: https://packages.debian.org/stretch/firmware-amd-graphics Thank you for the suggestion. Already did that. apt-debug firmware-amd-graphics is already the newest version (20161130-4). When the card is plugged in, I notice in the dmesg that it couldnt load th...

AMD RX560 on Debian Stretch - Not supported?

I am trying to get my AMD RX 560 ITX from MSI to work with Debian 9 Stretch. As is it will only boot in vga and go blank once Xorg is executed. Obviously it misses the gpu drivers. I checked that the card works with windows on the same machine, and it works so the card is fine, works great on window...

It was solved with help from the jack developers ug.
It ended up being a pulseaudio/jack-sync problem that brought bluetooth down.
It is solved now.

I ask again please just ignore the thread so that others can have a chance at solving this constructively. You can of course disregard my request, but i...
