Debian, no doubt, is a winner. King of stability!! And then, I love what Slackware stands for, too!

Re: Debian show
Hello! I am new to the forums but have used Debian for some time now. I was just wondering if it would be permissible to start a show on Youtube that covers strictly Debian-related news topics. The show would mainly be produced as a hobby, and to help me improve my audio/video editing skills a bit....

"What is a "Real" Debian user?"
One who knows it and runs it and if possible, helps others to do the same. And what is this CLI and GUI bullshit?

Re: loging in xfce again comes to the same gdm(?)
Hi. If there are any xfce users who could confirm this, I would appreciate this. After fresh install of xfce, on going to the window theme manager option under xfce settings, while browsing down the themes for xfwm, it goes/logs out and thereafter I am stuck at the gdm. No matter how many times I do...

Re: loging in xfce again comes to the same gdm(?)
When you ran 'rm -rf .*' you deleted all config folders/files (everything starting with a dot). This may have helped. But whenever you have trouble logging in or with some graphical application, have a look in ~/.xsession-errors for hints. How do I do that? AND most importantly, how do I know if th...

Re: loging in xfce again comes to the same gdm(?)
Hi.
Unfortunately, I have encountered the same problem again. I was browsing through the windows manager default themes from the settings. I haven't installed anything from outside. What is causing it?
Again the same gdm. I login, a beep sound and again the same gdm. I can't get to the desktop.

Re: loging in xfce again comes to the same gdm(?)
If you don't mind losing your settings (that is, returning to Debian's defaults), login to the console (ctrl+alt+f1) as your normal user and delete all hidden stuff from your home folder rm -rf .* Then reboot. (I'm guessing you don't have normal data in hidden folders or files) I have just installe...

Re: loging in xfce again comes to the same gdm(?)
Though I don't know much, what would upgrading to sid accomplish?
I want to run squeeze as stable. I have "squeeze" in my sources.list.
I again checked. Once I type username and password in the gdm screen it again comes back to the same screen.

I have installed nothing extraneous. I was browsing through the Window manager themes options provided by the Settings in Xfce that it went back to the login screen.
