[solved]How long takes rebuilding official debian kernel?

Here are 2 questions 1.In the last line of the debian kernel handbook 4.2.2 Applying patches It is possible to apply extra patches to the source before starting the build. First, you should apply the existing patches by running: $ fakeroot debian/rules source You will then find the patched source in...

Re: Debian Lenny mount external USB HD

If your motherboad supports USB2.0, Debian autoloads /dev/sdxx.(sometimes it might be takes 1 more minutes depends on your system) Then you can mount it. 1. sudo mkdir /media/usb-hd ; making mount point in advance. 2. sudo mount -t vfat(or ntfs-3g, or....) -o option1,option2,,,,(options what you nee...

Re: [solved] Need advices for low performance pc :movies

josephg, thankyou in man ways. Just a few hours ago, I realized that I ignored the words "Also see the HTML documentation!" on the manpages of the mplayer. So, I visit mplayer homepage, and Wow !!! Literally, All manuals lead to solutions.(All roads lead to Rome) There are many ways to inc...

Re: [solved] Need advices for low performance pc :movies

josephg, I have experienced playing movie in console mode.

Capable option was -vo cvidix, but it looks my pc as 386 or 486pc and very much lower than x-window.

Re: [solved] Need advices for low performance pc :movies

I tried all your options, but failed. My 17" non-flat CRT monitor shows colorful narrow cross lines like damaged tv monitors and system turns to uncontrolable. Are you use of your own compiled mplayer by yourself? or Have you any special configurations in /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf ? p.s. In x-w...

Re: [solved] Need advices for low performance pc :movies

I can't play a movie in console booting mode.

But fbdev, fbdev2 options works greatly well in x-window terminal.

Could you tell me What's wrong with my option?

Code: Select all

mplayer fbdev -vo vidix:radeon sample.mkv
mplayer -vo vidix:radeon fbdev sample.mkv

Re: [solved] Need advices for low performance pc :movies

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=58452 perhaps, you could contribute too. It's not for me, in my thoughts. If "-vo vidix:radeon" is all, in my case the option couldn't show video because of it's size is too big to console mode, but I can hear sounds only. And if you have any problems in settings o...

Re: [solved] Need advices for low performance pc :movies

I do know that the loop filter removes "blockiness" from low resolution video, but eats some CPU cycles. Since you really can't see any improvement on HD video, it makes sense to disable it to free up as many CPU resources as possible. Yes, I agree with you. I think, on the HD video, Huma...

Re: need advice for low performance pc :movies

-framedrop -vfm ffmpeg -lavdopts lowres=1:fast:skiploopfilter=all The above formation of the options is the best powerful combination that I found. With that combination, some 1080p [1920x1080 h264/dts mkv] movies and music videos were natural, some others were not. Now I am going to close this topi...

Re: Problem on playing Youtube

I meant where the youtube movies are in your directory.

Did I misunderstand your question?

I understood your "restore" as downloaded them in your HDD.

If your post means "movies on the Youtube webpages only" , I am sorry, you may wait proper answers.

On Youtube video right-click -> Open with "Movie Player" Warning: Code: Select all An error occur: Could not open location; you might not have permission to open the file. It's a permission problem. Do this ls -la, and see who is the file owner/group, I think it might be root root or some...

Re: need advice for low performance pc :movies

mplayer -vfm ffmpeg -lavdopts lowres=1:fast:skiploopfilter=all ~/movie/sample.mkv works because it cuts the vertical resolution by half (so overall by four), so you end up displaying 360p video instead of 720p. It's a good workaround for machines that can't handle the full resolution. By my few day...

Re: need advice for low performance pc :movies

ffmpeg-svn-r25917 has 2 mp4 bugs. 1. If you give this option "-vfm ffmpeg -lavdopts lowres=1:fast:skiploopfilter=all" on a HD mp4 pictures, mplayer shows half images.[I don't know this is only for my problem, or it could say ffmpeg bug] To avoid this error, you should give the option like ...

Re: need advice for low performance pc :movies

Not listed is Not means Not adapted, it means adapted by default when you installed radeon.

and more EXA is the newer accel architecture than XAA.

p.s. to rivenathos, it' not you are wrong, your replies are right. but it's not enough to. this is what I want to say.
