Hi all
I know my computer is old but this is only one I have.
Please suggest me a Desktop environment for Debian I should use on this computer with core 2 duo with 3 GB ddr2 ram.
I will really appreciate if someone can post a chart/table where I can see ram consumption by each D.E .
Thank you

How do you see New Apple Silicon Chips
The launch of the M1 Pro and M1 Max shows how far Apple has come in developing silicon on its own .Intel is still sticking with old x86 architecture which has no future IMHO .

Re: After installation Debian boot is stuck at this stage
Do you have anything in /etc/network/interfaces.d/setup ? The Live installer seems to be adding some entries which try to bring network interfaces up a boot time. https://wiki.debian.org/NetworkConfiguration https://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=149596 Mine has auto lo iface lo inet loopback au...

And you reused my couch from the 80's  :D Come on, be nice. This is an international forum, and we all come from countries with different fashions and standards of living. Not everyone has sofas costing 3.000 Euros, nor should they. No problem he said in a light mode IMO . We call them Sofa ...

Re: Running Debian LXQT on Pentium 4 with 512 MB RAM
That type of hardware is ancient by current standards, software developers are not designing for 10yr old pc's ... actually it's 15-19 years old, depending on the CPU model - it's a dinosaur ;) @ asifnaz I think that the main problem is low RAM capacity - what is the swap usage? (check the output o...

Re: Debian Mate 32 bit for this old desktop PC?
You'll probably be disappointed in modern web browsing on that machine, but it could be used for DVD and video playback, as long as it's not really HD, as well as basic stuff like email and word processing. I'd recommend using non-browser video streamers like Minitube or SMTube if you want to watch...

I dont understand why it is seen as video promotion . Before in a discussion I mentioned that presentation and I was told he said Unix-like not Linux like . Nobody believed me .
