in command line you can use avisplit from the transcode-utils package : avisplit -i input.avi -o output.avi -t 00:01:00-00:01:30 will create a file output.avi001 from input.avi between 1 minute and 1 minute 30 seconds with mencoder : mencoder input.avi -oac copy -ovc copy -ss 00:01:00 -endpos 00:01:...

i upgraded xserver-xorg-video-intel to 2.21.15-1+b2 and commented some options in the device section of my xorg.conf and thing are up and running again. Maybe the "AccelMethod" "SNA" option was not a good choice. iman@debian:~$ apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-intel xserver-xo...

Re: How do I set certain defaults to Gnome ALSA USB Mixer?
gnome-alsamixer is just a GUi to the command line alsamixer (alsa-utils package)
So with sudo alsactl store you should set you current settings as default.

[solved] xserver-xorg-video-intel and xrandr
Hi! Since a few days i'm forced to pin xserver-xorg-video-intel at version 2.19.0-6, since version 2.21.14-4 doesn't allow me to use resolution higher than 800x600 (i usualy have 1280x1024 with xrandr). This version of xserver-xorg-video-intel seems to ignore my xorg.conf Modes. i've tried without a...

Hello.
it's because nvidia installer needs linux source.
Just decompress again the source where you decompressed them at compilation time and reinstall nvidia driver.
