Re: Had to put kernel patch 6.1.85-1 on hold, messing up wifi
Have you tried a newer kernel? I saw one post stating the driver for this device was added in kernel 6.2 . Try a kernel from backports.

mdadm is for RAID. You may be able to remove the package if you don't use RAID. I don't think it is required for LVM.

Re: Setting firmware=never allows non-free firmware installation on Debian 12
Lux8 please list the "approximately 30 non-free components installed" that you have on your system. Here I have exactly 6 non-free firmware packages installed, all of which are required for my hardware. Non-free drivers are not what this issue should be about, they generally have to be in...

Re: UEFI boot-repair not working
For Debian GRUB to detect other OSs you need to enable os_prober which is disabled by default. Boot Debian and change it in /etc/default/grub . You don't need boot-repair or a live disk to do this.

That's your opinion and you are welcome to keep it. Mine is that any containerised applications are absolute last resort when packages are not available in official repos.

Thanks all. Going forward is there a way to mark the thread solved? I edited the subject manually but I figure there must be a "thread tools" somewhere. So obvious I can't see it. Use the edit button in your first post to change the title and add prefix [Solved]. And please give your topi...

Re: [Software] which kernel flavor for Music
I use and recommend a Liquorix kernel for audio production - https://liquorix.net/ . I tried the Debian RT kernel once and it was not as good. There a a few optimisations to improve audio performance - https://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/system_configuration For starters it can be helpful to run the rt...

Re: [Feedback] plain text attachments not acceptable
Looking into it. Not sure why they are disallowed.
In the meantime, archive files are allowed so just ask poster to put it in a zip or tar etc. file.
There's also the board pastebin for text up to 150KB or use an external pastebin service.
