Re: No sound: HP Spectre x360 "Dummy Output" output device (broadwellrt286)
Probably wont help you but one of the issues I had with my Envy x360 was solved by using a much more newer kernel than what the default is in Debian.

Here you go.
https://linuxize.com/post/how-to-instal ... debian-10/
I'm doing what you're basically asking. I have a few deb 10 VMs running on a r710 and all I do is use Remmina to connect.
Enjoy..

Re: gparted on XFCE not asking for password
Anyone run into this before and have a fix? Thanks Yes, I have, yes I do! Clues are in http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=148806 XFCE isn't always including an user-agent, formerly gnomes I think now gone from bullseye, you need to finish it off depending on how you want it. You want...

Re: gparted on XFCE not asking for password
running journalctl --follow, then running gparted from the menu, I see:
/usr/libexec/gdm-x-session[10876]: Error executing command as another user: No authentication agent found.
I'll start looking to see what I can find...

Re: Dell G7 7700 not working with Debian 10
yea, try Bullseye. I had to for my new HP x360. Everything works. I had to find drivers for a few things but it was easy. XFCE acting weird, not asking for authentication for gparted but if you dont use XFCE then you'll avoid that. GNOME Classic works fine also.

[SOLVED] gparted on XFCE not asking for password
I'm running Deb testing on my HP Envy x360. Why? Well, I could not get the nvme drive recognized. I didnt want to fart around too much since my previous laptop was sold and needed to transfer my old stuff. In general everything works fine unless there is an application which requires authentication ...

Forcing a udev map for a ttyUSBx device
Can I force a device to map as ttyUSB1 instead of ttyUSB0? I'm trying: KERNEL=="ttyUSB1", SUBSYSTEM=="tty", ATTRS{idProduct}=="2008", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0557", SYMLINK+="ttyUSB_DEVICE1" I cannot get it to force ttyUSB1. It only recognizes ttyUSB0. So ...

Re: Dell 7391 2n1 Graphics not working
Really really new hardware and an aging version of Debian stable are a poor match. You may need to use backports or even firmware packages that aren't in any version of Debian yet. This will be the answer to many many many questions that will appear here in the future, just as it's been the answer ...

Re: debian or ubuntu best for server solution in production
Damn, and here I've been using 'yum install foo' on my CentOS workstation VM when I was supposed to be manually installing from tarballs? Silly me..... I should have realized it was worse than RedHat 5, that even way back then had RPM, even if it didn't do automatic dependency installation. What?? ...

Yes I found the same unhelpful information you posted and I also regurgitated the same. "use openvpn" which doesnt have features like I stated in the original post. I'm already using OpenVPN on my pfSense box but I'd rather have a 'VPN kill switch' and some other small features it provides...

Private internet access app not launching
[Deb 9 x86 64-bit] I'm installing the Private Internet access app, v75 under Deb 9 but when I go to run it, the app exits and does not run. strace on run.sh shows the following towards the end: -- SIGCHLD {si_signo=SIGCHLD, si_code=CLD_EXITED, si_pid=15382, si_uid=1000, si_status=0, si_utime=3, si_s...
