yea, try Bullseye. I had to for my new HP x360. Everything works. I had to find drivers for a few things but it was easy. XFCE acting weird, not asking for authentication for gparted but if you dont use XFCE then you'll avoid that. GNOME Classic works fine also.

Really really new hardware and an aging version of Debian stable are a poor match. You may need to use backports or even firmware packages that aren't in any version of Debian yet. This will be the answer to many many many questions that will appear here in the future, just as it's been the answer ...

Fixed it. gparted..deleted Winders and all is well. On to the next issue.

I have disabled secureboot and also enabled AHCI. Deb installer cannot find the SSD. Anyone know how to get this part working?

Yes I found the same unhelpful information you posted and I also regurgitated the same. "use openvpn" which doesnt have features like I stated in the original post. I'm already using OpenVPN on my pfSense box but I'd rather have a 'VPN kill switch' and some other small features it provides...
