Re: Who is using old laptops, thanks to linux?

Using a Thinkpad X220 as my main laptop - Debian Stretch with lxde and running with a 256gb ssd and 6gb ram.
Got the laptop last year on a very neat price, and I like the black finish and high quality build on the laptop.

If anyone want to run Debian on a laptop, I highly recommend Thinkpad and ...

Re: Debian Wheezy Postfix/Dovecot - Office 365 smtp relay.

http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html#virtual_alias_maps
Presumably it can work with mysql, but is probably easier with just a lookup table file.

Ok, when I followed the guide to set up the linux mail server - I added the following tool that uses mysql to add alias;

So ...

Re: Debian Wheezy Postfix/Dovecot - Office 365 smtp relay.

You could probably change your local domain to local.example.org and set an alias for each "local" example.org address.

Okay, how do I do that?
I understand how to add local.example.org but I'm unsure where to add alias.

Should I add a ailas for each user on the Office365 enviroment?
The ...

Re: Netflix on Debian Wheezy

Yes, but the thread concerns Wheezy, and maybe you did not see that it needs a newer libc6?
I'm terrible sorry, I am running Debian Jessie - my mistake.

Re: Installation on Acer Aspire V5-122P

Try to boot up the laptop with debian-live and try to identify what type of network adapter you have.
The following link will help you identify your network adapter;

After that, you will most likely need firmware;

Re: old laptop for Cisco console terminal

In the past, when I played with serial consoles it was the only way I got mincom to work.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
A dirty solution would be to download the package and install it with dpkg, it depends on other packages but they might already be installed.

A lot of the nas states that they do indeed has streaming but there is ...

Re: old laptop for Cisco console terminal

Your hardware specifications is fine to run Debian Wheezy, that is without a window manager.
If you need a windows manager I would suggest something light like openbox.
But, if you you just need a serial consol - a standard installation will do fine with setserial and minicom will do fine.
