Not sure what exactly did it, Debian or Samsung upgrades, but since today (at least) mtp works normally on Samsung A5 2017.
Just to update if someone had the same problem.
Thanks.

Just came in to say this. Don't know how I managed to miss KDE Connect, it works great! Thanks sunrat!sunrat wrote:Try KDE Connect, easiest way I have found to connect and transfer. It also has some other cool functions like using phone for media control, as an input device, or send/receive SMS from your PC.

Re: Which graphical updater on stretch with KDE?
Apper works nice on my end, though i don't have anything agains Discover. It's nice to have a functional software boutique, but it doesn't detect packages or libraries on my end, so for that i use apper without encountering issues.

Good mtp option for Stretch + Samsung?
Hi, I have issues when trying to transfer files (mp3) from Stretch KDE to Samsung Galaxy A5. I correctly set the Samsung as a storage device, but then whenever I try to access it via Dolphin, Samsung asks me if I want to allow Debian to access its files. I then enter this loop where I can't access i...

Re: GNOME extensions question
pylkko, thank you, didn't see that. That means it should be well-tested?
I'm mostly thinking about dash-to-dock. It looks very interesting.
Kind regards.

GNOME extensions question
For users running GNOME, do you run any extensions from extensions.gnome.org? What are the upsides and downsides of said extensions, do they impact GNOME's stability in any way? Is it better to run vanilla?
Thank you guys.
Thank you guys.

Re: [Solved] Firefox 53.3 vs. ESR in Stretch
Wait for Stretch to go stable and then use mozilla.debian.net when they update the repos, so you don't have to pull and pin form experimental (I'm always afraid of that).

Re: Flash not working in Firefox on Stretch
Hi! Thanks to both! I'll try with the tarball unpacking. Didn't want to promote any streaming service, but the only one I'm using is a music one (Tidal) and it won't play without flash. I stopped using the video streaming services a couple of months ago. Will report & thanks again. edit: using F...

Ah, so. No wonder I didn't find a useful solution then. Ususally a solution is in one of the top search results.
Uninstalling the plugins then until it gets fixed.
Thanks

Flash not working in Firefox on Stretch
Hi,
I run Stretch 64bit GNOME, installed flashplugin-nonfree and later even pepperflashplugin-nonfree. None of those two want to run flash content (I only need for the streaming service I'm subscribed to) in Firefox ESR. Any ideas what I could do next?
Thanks.

That's a bullseye. Thank you. (I already use Libreoffice from backports, so I shouldn't expect breakage, I presume? ).
Thanks again.

Jessie and font Subpixel hinting
Hi guys. Just one quick question to establish the validity of some steps I'd perform. What I'd do to establish nice font hinting is install package libfreetype6, and then create a file in /etc/fonts/conf.avail and conf.d, named 10-lcd-filter.conf. It would contain: <fontconfig> <match target="f...

Re: How to 'undo' symlink?
I thank you both for your help, this seems to have done the trick.
Lesson learned, i'll rather leave it as it is from now on. When Jessie comes, it'll be easier to change those images in gnome 3.14 anyway.
Thanks again!
