Re: [Software] Upgrade to bookworm stopped by gstreamer?

There's no solution to a few dependency issues other than a complete reinstall? We could probably cleanse the system of the DMO stuff but I just tried an installation of yt-dlp from there in my bookworm test system and I had to gut it completely to get rid of all foreign packages. I'll ...

... the aptitude package to gain access to that command. Hopefully that will be possible. If it can't be installed delete the file containing the DMO sources (in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/) then run apt update apt purge -s '~o' And post the output of the second command.

No guarantees it won't break your system, but you could try getting a list of just the packages and remove them. apt list -i | grep -dmo | cut -d'/' -f1 |awk 1 ORS=' ' | sed s/Listing...\ //g >pkglist Then maybe (didn't test this as I don't have any dmo packages):- apt remove <pkglist ...

Re: unmet dependencies installing gnome-control-center

Remove all the deb-multimedia packages (dmo).
Ideally, all foreign packages should be removed prior to a dist-upgrade to avoid exactly these issues, as stated in the upgrade instructions in the Release Notes.

Re: KDE - Bullseye - Issues after update with old dependencies

I would never put dmo in sources. Or at best pin it to -1. With pin 450 it will still install a higher epoch as in this case with the "10" prefix even though the actual package is older, and cause dependency issues. There ...

See that "dmo" in the package name? That means the package is from Deb Multimedia, an unofficial third party repo which is notorious for creating dependency problems like this. That prefix "10" in the dmo one ...
