"Graphical Environments" covers all the DEs and WMs. "Multimedia" should be kept apart. They are very different subjects.
I rarely see posts here about problems with WMs. My suspicion is that WM users are mostly able to take care of their own issues.
Scheduled Maintenance: We are aware of an issue with Google, AOL, and Yahoo services as email providers which are blocking new registrations. We are trying to fix the issue and we have several internal and external support tickets in process to resolve the issue. Please see: viewtopic.php?t=158230

Re: [Software] can i just install all firmware?
Other than this log report, is your computer operating properly?
Drivers are in the kernel. The firmware blobs are non-free blobs needed for the drivers to work. Having excess blobs isn't a problem.
If this is a problem try another kernel, even an older one.

Re: Lazy mans installation
So I got the cloned SSD from the aforementioned computer, fired up Clonezilla, and cloned the SSD onto the new notebook. I've done that. It works as long as the new machine is not cutting edge, state of the art. The kernel has to handle the new hardware. I also use Clonezilla as backup. I keep a sp...

Re: [Software] Conky and Conky Manager
There are many posts on the Internet that show users' Conky with configuration. Find a configuration you like and install it manually. Now edit .conkyrc for your satisfaction. Any text editor will work. Conky is in the user account so you don't need to edit as root.

Re: Look forward to Debian 12 "Bookworm"!
Does bookworm have backward compatibility for deprecated programs? I depend on Dayplanner to organize my non-computing life. I have not found any substitute that I like. Dayplanner requires an older version of Python and simply won't work on Debian 11+. I'd rewrite it if I could but that's over my h...

Re: [Discussion] A world in which Debian uses RPM
The reason I switched to Debian is Apt. Because I didn't know any better, I started my Linux adventure with Red Hat and other distros that used RPM. I was totally frustrated with "RPM Hell" as we called it. When I first tried a Debian based distro it was like a huge weight had been lifted ...

Re: How long should it take to install on a vm?
Something is wrong. A minimal install can take 10 minutes. Even a fully loaded Gnome system should still take less than half an hour.

Re: [News] [Feature] Opt-in Cookies and 3rd party content
Is there any way to set it once and never see the pop-up again? I'm using Firefox-esr with the Arkenfox user.js that resets every time FF is opened. That gets rid of a lot of junk but not this pop-up.

Re: [SID - Unstable] I just quit running Liquorix kernels
In the past I experimented with Liquorix kernels. They are easy to install, easy to get rid of. Since installing a solid state drive I don't think Liquorix has anything that would be useful for me.

Re: Net Installer requires standard system utilities, else install fails.
Standard system utilities are very basic. Yes, you want them. Since you are doing a virtual system, try unchecking KDE and installing only standard system utilities. You should boot up to a command prompt. Those standard system utilities should help you install and edit whatever you want.

Is this a new install? If so, it might be easier to reinstall.

Re: SID: Desktop Freezes
Does the mouse work? Can you do a soft shutdown? Look up Alt + SysRq + REISUB . If so, Linux is working but your video is not.
Freezes are usually hardware related. Search the forum; there's lots of this.
