Re: lost browser connectivity

though i have firefox installed, i hardly use it. so that it to has problems makes me think it is not a profile issue. This is an easy test which can eliminate many possibilities either way. Chrome has a similar hidden directory; all browsers do. This being Debian you might have fewer problems with...

is this not saying the pc goes via the router (default gateway)

and the widget happens to pickup, what nameserver your router is using (how you connect to the internet)?

is this different from what you see when you log in to the router (the primary nameserver)?

Re: [Testing - Bookworm] Where is the system log?

journalctl is what you want to use so if i want to see all NetworkManager logs journalctl -u NetworkManager.service -u <servicename> is the context you can then add -b to see logs just for the current boot systemd is used in debian stable so this is not really a testing/sid issue. a basic search sho...

Re: Sudo to root

sudo is not a standard a debian way of working. when you installed the system you were asked for a root password. debian expects as a default that root actions are completed by the root user. you can login to the root user using su - . you can then run all root related commands without the sudo pref...

Re: changed its 'Codename' value from 'experimental' to 'rc-buggy'

this came about for me a few days ago. i have always known experimental just as that. so i was initially surprised but then thought well if unstable is sid, it stands to reason that experimental also has a name. but i only accepted the changes after i found this info out. and then i have just rememb...

[Hardware] [sid] differing network internet speeds on mesh

i have a 1Gbps/1Gbps fibre package were the isp provided a router for the package. at the time i thought it was them tying to sell me the product, but now, i think it was merely because you actually need a 1Gbps router for the product .(i think there was probably a minimal cost to the router as i do...

Re: [Solved] No display : NVIDIA Corporation GF108GLM [Quadro 1000M]

I'm not certain it is relevant in this case, but nvidia-driver 525.85.12-1 and kernel 6.1.11-1 are currently in unstable so may shortly be upgraded in testing. By using the upstream driver rather than the Debian nvidia-driver package you will have to run the patch every time the kernel is upgraded....

Re: [SID - Unstable] NVIDIA Problem Hinders SID Update

Had the same issue but is fixed by adding non-free-firmware to your apt config. This is due to firmware-nvidia-gsp-525.85.12 being missing for nvidia-driver and recently non-free firmware moving to its own repository category.
