Re: SSH issue after Buster upgrade

I would be more interested to know what error message you get when you try logging in. I am no longer able to login using ssh. What does it say when you try ? If you can not log in to it via ssh, I don't see how you can repair anything or even access the logs as far as that goes, ...Do you have phys...

Re: Hello everyone

Well thanks, I hate to see any birds shut up in a cage, and don't like it when I feel "locked in", I can go in and out as I wish, How ever, "the cage", if you want to call it that, serves a dual purpose, it keeps predators out, and I have several parrots that learned the hard way...

Re: Is there system-config-lvm for Debian 10?

I don't know really, there are mailing lists you could join , and ask them why. A little search foo to find the correct list. copy /paste into your favourite search engine: How to contact Debian developers , if you don't know which mailing lists. Its surprising that the latest Debian Version doesnt ...

Thanks, and that is a good point I sort of forgot to mention, for those that want to use Debian testing, they can stay informed if they check: https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/ From: https://www.debian.org/releases/testing/ ---snip-- In addition, general status reports are posted by th...

Re: security update: bullseye-security or testing-security

If you are going to be using Debian testing you should read all of the documentation on Debian testing, Just scraping the surface here: https://www.debian.org/security/faq#testing Q: How is security handled for testing? A: Security for testing benefits from the security efforts of the entire project...

,--snip-- i've played the game before. I am saying: It. Is. Not. There. Ok, well that is different, I agree with Wheelerof4te , try those suggestions. Re: Is Wayland the default DE in a buster upgrade from stre

Are you using Wayland on the Debian 9 ? I don't use Cinnamon, and was not using it before, so that is the big difference between yours and mine, the point is though, I had xorg as my display server , and when I upgraded it stayed the same. I did not miss the fact that it was a upgrade, however, I se...

Re: Flash-based Devices Not Mounted Under Buster

Well, I am not a big fan of "assuming" anything, and don't use any "auto updates, or upgrades", but yes , you are right, no new updates or upgrades have been made available recently, and probably there will be none for a while now, since Buster is now stable . Later there may be ...

Re: Is Wayland the default DE in a buster upgrade from stre

Neither Wayland or X-org are DE's , I suggest doing some research on this first, and after you do the research, if you still have questions, feel free to ask. To help you get started: use key words : What is Wayland ? First hit: https://wayland.freedesktop.org/ The same, for X-org, "what is xor...

Re: tor browser on debian 10?

I just tried the method shown by bluepill on a VM, and it seems to be working, just extract the tar.xz file, and the rest is self explaining, seems very slow on the VM though, but that is to be expected.

Based on the instructions they gave for the download: Download it and unzip it somewhere convenient and clcik on start-tor-browser inside it and you're all done. "apt" is not involved. If you want to, or feel the need to use apt to install it, then the link arrochester posted: https://2019...
