Access Linux encrypted volume from Windows - what is needed?

Hello everyone,

I have an encrypted Linux volume but would like to access it from Windows.
What need to be installed on Windows to be able to access the volume Read-Write ?

Encrypted how ? With plain dm-crypt, LUKS1, LUKS2, VeraCrypt, TrueCrypt, other ?
What does the volume contain ? A plain filesystem (what type ?), an LVM physical volume, other ?

The same method as Debian Buster installer uses - I guess it is LUKS2 ?

At the moment it is just plain ext4 without LVM.

Ok. I don't know how to access LUKS2 volumes and ext4 filesystems in Windows nor I will search (I'm just not interested in Windows enough), but with this information you can
- do a more precise search on the web
- edit the title to make it more precise too and possibly attract readers who may know the answser.

You would need librecrypt and ext2fsd.

ext2fsd isn't maintained that much, and the main site is down so grab the latest from sourceforge. I've used it in the past for having ext3 drives read /write directly on windows, worked a treat back in the day. I can't see anything stopping you since it supports win7 / win8, you can just run it in compatibility mode if for some reason it doesn't run under win10 or something.
