Something wrong here - new install of Bullseye/Gnome today. Going through the procedure here: https://virtualboxes.org/doc/installing ... on-debian/
-the GA install script starts but the module compile stage crashes:
Building the main Guest Additions 6.1.6 module for kernel 5.10.0.8-amd64.
Error building the module.
That aside, why download from some random website when you can get the latest Virtualbox, suitable for Bullseye, direct from the virtualbox.org website? That website you linked hasn't been updated since about 2015.
Comparing what happens with current Debian installs here with experience of previous installs rather points the finger at the host rather than the Debian virtual machine. Mentioning version numbers above jogs my memory that recent calls to update the host VB install have not been heeded. Updating the Oracle VirtualBox host to 6.1.26 improved things - no more lengthy error lists in /var/log/vboxadd-setup.log ! Drag and drop doesn't work so well, but shared folders is fine.
By the way, the downloads are from trusted sites, the web link was to the current guest additions install checklist.
