Can you provide some more info.

Where did you try connect?

Start putty from terminal, and if you get any error messages, post them here.

Have you ruled out network connection problems?

Someone else had the same issue recently, and my suspicion in that case was that Putty was crashing due to running it on Wayland, but I never heard back from that person if that was the issue or not.

Looking at your video, I see that you are running Gnome, which means that you could be running Wayland, if you are, you can try logging into the Gnome session using the "Gnome on xorg" option and then trying to run Putty.

These are the instructions that I offered to the other poster:

You would just need to log out of the session and when you get back to the main login screen, you would click on your user name, and when the password prompt appears, a little gear icon should also appear somewhere on the screen where you can select a different session type, the choice that you want would be called something like "Gnome on xorg". Sorry for being vague, but I don't use Gnome myself (or Wayland).

It looks like 0.76, will be in the next release, 12 or Bookworm.
