Unable to get list of updates

#1 Post by Diesel330 »

The OS is updated from the terminal but when I look for updates from GUI I get this error:
Screenshot from 2022-01-26 09-57-gggggggggggg59.png

Any ideas how to fix this?

lvfs should be connected to firmware updater (fwupd). I assume some file it checks online is corrupted.
I've found this bug report [1] where it says that this terminal command is a workaround that fixes this (at least temporarily).

As root:

Code: Select all

fwupdmgr --force refresh

Image Stable / Asus VivoBook X421DA / AMD Ryzen 7 3700U / Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx (Picasso) / 8 GB RAM / 512GB NVMe

Thanks

Code: Select all

fwupdmgr --force refresh
Updating lvfs

Now I don't get the error it say the OS is updated. So I will get the error again with the next update?

Some people in the bug report say this fixed it, some say it only fixes it temporarily.

If you don't update firmware via fwupd anyway, you could just remove it and then I assume gnome-software won't try to load it anymore. It's not listed as a strict dependency in gnome-software anyway.
