Debian 10.9 grub rescue after first boot

#1 Post by drmacro »

After fresh install, selected install grub on disk. get the following:

Code: Select all

error: file 'boot/grub/i386-pc/normal.mod' not found.
Entering rescue mode...
grub rescue>
If I select the newly installed from bios, it does boot.

I've seen this before installing on UEFI MOBO what do I need to do to get the install right?

Any help appreciated.

ISO is: debian-live-10.9.0-amd64-xfce+nonfree.iso

What do you mean by "selected install grub on disk" ?
What do you mean by "select the newly installed from bios"

Can you install the boot-info-script package, run boot-info-script and post the report ?
