how de/select updates

#1 Post by Waldo Jeffers »

We are still strugling to get a neat install

Code: Select all

apt update && apt upgrade
brings firefox-esr-l10n. We don't need 76 languages for FF. How select just 1?

Why don't you just remove the languages you don't need?

Uninstall the metapackage for all localisations and install the language pack you want, probably.

It seems more reasonable NOT to dl what you don't need instead of having to delete it afterwards. I can find no way to get rid of the useless 76 languages/ metapackage .
I've found this option Delete ESR and install from Moz https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/a ... esktop-esr
Not sure if that will break anything?
still prefer NOT to have them in the 1st place. Does anybody know how to do so?

I'm not sure how you even managed to install that. I've chosen English when I installed Debian and therefore never got any other language packages other than English.

Also, please stop emphatically writing not like you're screaming at us. It makes you look very rude and makes us less likely to help you.

Not sure why you would think that ? Anyhow thats truly a wrong interpretation.

On the other hand

one could explain as rather rude....
But let's stick to the topic. FF automatically installs these 76 languages! How prevent that?
