Installation by win32-loader.exe doesn't work

#1 Post by ecccc3 »

Hi

All selectioning expert mode :

I tried win32-loader.exe 0.10.4 stable release : " The downloaded Released file cannot be trusted! Aborting " .

I tried win32-loader.exe 0.10.4 daily build , win32-loader.exe 0.10.6 stable release and daily build : I reboot on GRUB command prompt , so I tried several commands like initrdefi :
unaligned pointer 0x880ee818
Aborted. Press any key to exit.
Then I boot to Windows 10 .

Also win32-loader.exe detect my keyboard type is "uk" : no it's azerty .

My PC is Acer Nitro N50-600 , with BIOS Setup Utility which can UEFI and Legacy enabling CSM support ( I did in UEFI ) .

Thanks .

I post here because I don't have a Linux OS to use the reportbug ( https://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/reportbug ) software .

Well I finally installed Debian fully on Windows 10 with VirtualBox and firmware-testing-amd64-netinst.iso ( I prefer GUI than terminal debootstrap ( cdebootstrap ? ) on Windows Subsystem for Linux ) .
Thanks for your reply ( sarcasm ) .

Your sarcasm is unwarranted. This is a user forum so questions don't get answers if nobody here knows answers. I doubt there are many members here who use WSL.

I'd like to precise it didn't install GRUB on the original ESP ( EFI system partition ) with EFI\Microsoft\Boot etc probably because Windows 10 prevents it ( although https://superuser.com/questions/965751/ ... windows-10 ) but install GRUB on another ESP worked .

Well I found a solution of my problem : I copied pasted the firmware-testing-amd64-netinst.iso content in a PC's mass memory ( hard disk ) FAT32 partition I created , rebooted the PC , selected with the BIOS this partition to boot then installed Debian ( then deleted this partition ) .

Hello,

Just for the record, the win32-loader is going to be removed from debian-installer and debian-cd images [1].
