after so many years I wanted to try Debian again and downloaded the latest testing ISO. Since I am pretty comfortable to install Arch and many other distros, I thought this is not a problem at all. I was wrong – but I really want to use Debian for a while on my productive, daily driver. The installer gave me a hard time, but maybe it's error-40 and I may need a hint or help.
(Yes, it will be testing if any, not stable)
I stuck at initializing LVM.
My steps:
- Create partition table at NVME
- create 512MB /boot woth bootflag
- create 505GB crypt-ready partition
- 6gb free backup for speed reasons with full disk
- configure enc vol
- configure LVM
I also tried different disk setups with different constellations. same error, always at this step.physical volume /dev/mapper/nvme_crypt could not be initialized
There should be a log at /var/log/syslog, but there is no entry for this step which tells me what is wrong.
I even already watched Youtube-Tutorials, at this exact step noone got this error.
I never had such problems. So I hope it's just an error-40 and I can't see it.
Looking forward to your suggestions.
