In Debian Sid, i wasn't able to use my builtin microphone in Thinkpad T14 because the required kernel modules weren't activated.
These Kernel modules must be active:
CONFIG_SND_SOC_AMD_RENOIR=m
CONFIG_SND_SOC_AMD_RENOIR_MACH=m
So I had to compile the kernel for it to work.
I recommend setting this up so other users won't have the same problem.
UPDATE:
THIS PROBLEM WAS FIXED ON NEWER VERSIONS OF THE KERNEL!
Scheduled Maintenance: We are aware of an issue with Google, AOL, and Yahoo services as email providers which are blocking new registrations. We are trying to fix the issue and we have several internal and external support tickets in process to resolve the issue. Please see: viewtopic.php?t=158230

Re: No microphone in Renoir CPUs
I think you should probably submit a bug report against the kernel, no Debian developers visit here (AFAIK) so this thread probably won't achieve much.

Re: No microphone in Renoir CPUs
Was that the 5.9 Sid kernel? Yeah, I see this in its config file:
I see that the 5.8 Liquorix kernel enables it, though, along with a load of other devices that Debian does not.
Code: Select all
# CONFIG_SND_SOC_AMD_RENOIR is not set
