Can't Input Chinese When Booted from Bullseye Iso

#1 Post by pwzhangzz »

Bullseye sets ibus-libpinyin as its default Chinese input method. However, the iso image does not include the ibus-libpinyin package. Thus, even when a use log in under the Chinese locale, s/he cannot input Chinese characters.

This package is available from the Bullseye Repository. Have you tried installing it?

Yes, no problem installing the ibus-libpinyin package from the Debian repository. I am a new Debian user and just wanted to know how I could communicate with Debian developers so that this package can be included in the iso image. Will be more than happy to file a bug report.

This is a site for Debian USERS. People who just use Debian.

Developers don't really come here. If you need to contact Developers start here: https://www.debian.org/contact

Have you also raised the issue on the unofficial Chinese Debian site? https://debiancn.org/

Thanks. Following your suggestion, I've found instructions to submit a bug report:

https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting

Please let me know if there are alternatives.

Because of the CentOS fiasco, some long time Chinese Ubuntu users seem to start showing an interest in Debian (particularly Bullseye & the 5.10 kernel):

https://forum.ubuntu.com.cn/

Because of its heavier traffic, I would suggest interested Chinese Debian users also visit that site.
