We're pleased to announce that the freeze for Debian 10 'buster' has now migrated to the soft freeze stage. On Febuary 12th we slowed all migration delays to 10 days (even with autopkgtests) and stopped accepting source packages into testing that are new to testing or got removed. This mean that package removal from testing is now permanent. From now on, only small, targeted fixes are appropriate for buster. Please do not upload changes to unstable that are unsuitable for buster, use experimental for that. If in doubt, please talk to usbeforehand.
The next stage of the release is on target. It is: 2019-03-12 Full freeze
Further details of what changes are appropriate during the freeze are available in the freeze policy [1]. You can help by fixing release-critical bugs in buster. Upcoming bug squashing parties have been announced already in several places including Bonn, Cambridge, Salzburg, Paris, Gothenburg and many others. For details of a BSP near you, please see the Debian Wiki [2].
Please take this opportunity to check packages are in their final shape and stay vigilant for release-critical bugs.
