I have a Debian 10.9 destop and an Android phone
I need a Debian mechanism to access (via usb) and transfer
content (photos & documents) between these devices
primarily copying Android content to the desktop
Being able to transfer content in the opposite direction
(Debian pc to Android) could be an added value (but not crucial)
What do you suggest ?

If your desktop and phone are connected to the same network you can use kdeconnect.
Otherwise connect the 2 with a USB cable and switch your phone USB mode to data transfer.

I've been trying to get this to work since install. For some reason, Debian won't allow a data transfer. I've tried with both a Samsunng and Motorola. The Samsung gives me an error message that I need to install Android File Transfer, which very possibly could be the key, as that's what I used to exchange files on Manjaro.
