Something wrong withe the Debian repos?

#1 Post by Jackiebrown »

I've had no new updates (and I track sid) for the past 3 days and http://incoming.debian.org/ has been unreachable for the past 2 day.

I have tried the german, us, and vanilla servers with the same result.

edit

if I am reading this right, last updates were sunday

Mmm... hard drive problems in the server? How long does it take to pop in a new one? Or do they need some money, I wonder -- is there a PayPal account? Going without my daily upgrades (five days now!) is killing me...

Afaict the problem when this sort of thing happens is generally finding someone who has both physical access to the server and the time to sort it out.

We aren't talking about small volumes of data either, the debian archive must be a good half terrabyte or so.

Are we talking about days or even weeks to get it working normally again?

As a sid user I am used to my daily upgrades. My system works very well now but almost as an addictive I want to update and upgrade...

Afaict ftp-master is still down.

security-master is not affected though so stable-security and testing-security are still getting updates.

2 new harddisks were shipped overnight, and are already installed. At the moment, backups are being restored. Expect 1-2 more days for new pulses.

Finally some real news :)

Out of interest what is the harddisk setup on ftp-master like or is that secret information.

The ftp-master website is back up, so hopefully updates will be coming through again soon.

So from that and the talk of shipping two new harddisks I would deduce that the problem was probablly a double failure killing the raid.

Hehe! i guess i'm too immature, when this repo thing hapenned, i went from sid to etch and compiled ratpoison, and icewm, to their latest versions. Weechat had a .deb at their site with their latest.
