Scheduled Maintenance: We are aware of an issue with Google, AOL, and Yahoo services as email providers which are blocking new registrations. We are trying to fix the issue and we have several internal and external support tickets in process to resolve the issue. Please see: viewtopic.php?t=158230

Anyone have any repos that could be added?

Cool, thought I had virtualbox, picasa and google-desktop are in the google repo

Updated and added virtualbox. You can use the svmi script that comes with smxi to install virtualbox or vmplayer as well.

I've a set if you are interested in, they are for some *.deb's for building e17 from source and adding some of the OzOs custom themes and tools. They work for lenny, squeeze & sid (currently, although e17 building on any given day is arbitrary).

aMSN is not in testing. It's using the resource hogging tcl and is generally not as pretty as emesene or pidgin,
but it works best with my webcam over MSN, especially in the latest version, so I add this, just fetch the packages
once and then delete it as a source:

Code: Select all

# aMSN PPA

			deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/amsn-daily/ppa/ubuntu karmic main
			deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/amsn-daily/ppa/ubuntu karmic main

Emerald is also not in Testing, so I fetched it from here. Don't update Compiz from here, as it probably will have
dep errors.

Code: Select all

# EMERALD

			deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/osrdebian unstable compiz-fusion-git
Image Stable / Asus VivoBook X421DA / AMD Ryzen 7 3700U / Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx (Picasso) / 8 GB RAM / 512GB NVMe

Yes, the package amsn seems to be back in Squeeze:
http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/amsn

BUT, had you read my post instead of hasting to be condescending about me using a Ubuntu
package, you would have noticed that I NEED the latest version due to my web cam acting
up in the previous versions. Thanks for reading! Otherwise, if you take what's there in
Debian, then 90% of the listed repos become obsolete anyway. All the versions presented
by you are outdated and unstable releases, at least for me.

That's when you compile from source.

Just installing a single Ubuntu package can totally screw up your system. Just search the forum here or over at linuxquestions.org if you do not believe it.

And, well, after 4 years of Debian, I think I can manage a chat client go haywire. It's not like it's removing
libpam, and I only installed it once, I don't update it, unless I see good security threat on aMSN's site.

Mepis could be updated. 8.5 uses (for now) both the 8.0 and 8.5 repos (built on Lenny core libraries)

# MEPIS improvements, overrides and updates--the MEPIS magic
deb http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.mepis.org/mepis/ mepis-8.5 main
deb http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.mepis.org/mepis/ mepis-8.0 main

And the new 8.5 community repos, which don't need the 8.0 versions. (Working hard on getting them populated)

#Main
deb http://main.mepis-deb.org/mepiscr/repo/ mepis85cr main non-free
#Restricted
deb http://restricted.mepis-deb.org/mepiscr/repo/ mepis85cr restricted restricted-non-free
#Main testing
deb http://main.mepis-deb.org/mepiscr/testrepo/ mepis85cr test
#Restricted testing
deb http://restricted.mepis-deb.org/mepiscr/testrepo/ mepis85cr test-restricted

Nice giant sources list but the keys might come in handy.
DebianStable

Code: Select all

$ vrms

No non-free or contrib packages installed on debian! rms would be proud.

Anyone else have a repo not already in my Giant list? Debian mirrors do not count.
Do you have a favorite app that you just can't do without that you get from a 3rd party repo?
