Re: Which Browser do you use?
Yes seamonkey is a great browser. iceape in Hyperbola for their liberated version. I wonder they got that namedonald wrote: ↑2021-12-02 13:30When I do announcements or other news releases I always use Seamonkey as my preview/test browser. It is rock solid, fast, renders pages and text in absolutes and shows exactly what the end result will be, the suite is also pretty good for making minor changes to webpages without the complications some other browsers can introduce into the creative process. I love it. I also use it when the multiple extensions on FF cannot be disabled for some reason for a website. Glad to see another user.
eta: my actual daily use browser is Firefox-Nightly, the resets can be annoying but it is top notch for features and allows one to give back to the process.
I actually use most of the suit, browser, e-mail, composer, chatzilla
I thought I'd share the extensions I use now it's getting harder and harder to find them. and starting to affect it's usability
That said most addons are pants and it better to use as few as possible. There are 3 I always use the others only when needed.
littlemonkey-ublockO-and cookie exterminator.
If you find a xpi file that is to new to use copy it as a zip extract it and edit the version to a higher one.
or use
http://addonconverter.fotokraina.com/
https://github.com/lemon-juice/AMO-Brow … -SeaMonkey
https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock-for-firefox-legacy
If you use a netbook or device with a small screen littlemonkey is for you
https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/se … seamonkey/
Fantastic plugin. Lets cookies load. The site opens then it deletes them.
https://github.com/JustOff/cookies-exte … tag/2.9.10
Webcam
For webrtc to work you need access to your default mic and webcam.
These needs to be set as the users defaults for this addon to work. Not secure so only us on the page you're doing the web conference. then toggle it off.
https://github.com/IsaacSchemm/webrtc-p … -ui-toggle
https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/se ... t-switcher
I struggled to find older versions but need this for NHS webrtc conferences. I set it i chrome 99 and windows and it allows it to work! Yes I have complained. his zip has the legacy xpi and xml
Palemoon ans Basilisk addons
Some of these addons will work with seamonkey
https://addons.basilisk-browser.org/extensions/
unfortunately I struggle to find the sources for some of the basilisk browser extensions.
url-rewriter if anyone finds the source let me know or a legacy version of redirecter

Firefox. Before that, Netscape Navigator. Much as I find myself patching out the latest hipster stupidity more and more often of late, you'll probably have to pry mozilla from my cold, dead hands.
Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action. Four times is Official GNOME Policy.

I'm sort of giving netsurf-gtk a chance. Seems good for static websites for when I need more than text

Firefox ESR, although I have been dabbling in smaller browsers to have ready as back up in the event that Mozilla takes FF in a bad direction or just goes under entirely. The real I run into problem is that any good addons like uMatrix are only available for Firefox and Chromium derived browsers.

Sadly, yes. I usually disable JavaScript in smaller browsers for that exact reason.

Re: Which Browser do you use?
I prefer the Debian approach to packages, where things don't change too much. Debian updating to ESRs, which change less frequently, fits the 2-year Debian Stable cycle better than the very frequent releases of the regular Firefox versions IMHO.

Re: Which Browser do you use?
Because ESR has been adapted and tested by and for Debian. Also, there has to be something special in it for me to go chasing the "latest" of anything.
Re: Which Browser do you use?
I use Brave browser obiously.. (fast, clean interface, stable, well mantained, good linux support, p2p sync bookmarks among devices)
i also use Opera cos I need "Bookmarks V7 addon" to manage hundredths of bookmarks properly; also cos allow me bookmarks sync between movil devices
firefox has the same old problem as ever.. user interface is not well designed; tabs, main bar and menus doesnt feel good..doent come with a good manager bookmarks

Since you are all for 'freedom', maybe you should read what Brave does.

Re: Which Browser do you use?
Please please, reread what you've just written. You may trust brave blindly but your comment had me wondering if every other reader has been poking their eyes out with you. Is there something in the water where you live, or are you not able to rationally dissect the previous comments?bester69 wrote: ↑2022-02-02 18:49 brave is best browser currently: very stable (never crashes), well designed, user friendly, very fast, p2p bookmarks among devices movile support, well linux supported... If so please reread the previous comments and offer a critique on them.
"I trust Brave blindly" is not one. nether is "they never made me any evil"
These sort of posts have me and I'm sure many others holding their heads in their palms.... Is that the point?
