I've just recently attempted to start using Linux.
Specifically: I am using the Neptune OS, which I've read to be a derivative of Debian Bullseye.
My primary goal at the moment is to install WINE. However, when following the instructions online for how to do so, I ran into the following situation:
Typing in the command for making the deb registry and attempting to save the list gave me another error, reminding me that the path did not exist.
The guide I was following seemed to suggest that the path should exist by default, and that it should be simple to create a new list. That it was wrong on both accounts has me concerned.
As new to the system as I am, I hardly know what I'm doing, so maybe this isn't as big an issue as I am assuming. I would rather be reprimanded for being needy than to assume this is normal and be wrong.
Scheduled Maintenance: We are aware of an issue with Google, AOL, and Yahoo services as email providers which are blocking new registrations. We are trying to fix the issue and we have several internal and external support tickets in process to resolve the issue. Please see: viewtopic.php?t=158230

Re: Missing basic list
Did you try spelling the directory name correctly?
/etc/apt/
/etc/apt/

Rebooted computer
instead of typing it in myself I copy-pasted the command...
...
... It worked.
... I'll be excusing myself now.

Well, when we don't understand what is the solution, rebooting is the only solution.Okada_the_honourless wrote: ↑2022-01-26 01:45Rebooted computer
