A Frenchie ! Run !
Hi everyone.
I come from from the french community (debian-fr) where i am active, though i wanted to see how are things here. I didn't found any "introduce yourself" topic so here i am. Well, in a few words : I discovered GNU/Linux like a year ago (two months with ubuntu then debian sid  ). I use openbox since last month, and i really like that minimalistic way of coding. I hope i'll help, and i apologize for any english mistake.
Thanks, see ya

Re: A Frenchie ! Run !
Sorry ? What do you mean ? That in this board we can introduce ourselves, that there's no topic for that ?
Don't hit me, I'm french !
Re: A Frenchie ! Run !
Introductory topics are quietly discouraged. Soul Singin' is fairly... rough, however, and seems to like pecking people.
Re: A Frenchie ! Run !
are you a hot chick?
if so, then welcome to the debian forums....
if not, why the hell are you posting in general discussion instead of the offtopic section and why are you posting just to introduce yourself anyway...holy hell this isn't fifth grade where you have to introduce yourself to the class...

To the OP: Hi there. Intros are not common here as you may have noticed. But never mind these people. They have a strange sense of humor, in fact, some of them have no humor at all. They don't get out much...

Bonjour. Je m'appelle Imperium. J'ai 25 ans. J'aime les chats, les chiens et les images pornographiques (mais pas tous au même temps, ha-ha!). Je n'aime pas le sport et les logiciels proprietaires.gnudude wrote:holy hell this isn't fifth grade where you have to introduce yourself to the class...
Ah, memories. Can't believe I hated my French classes and consistently failed them only to then end up in this country.
Anyway, welcome and congratulations on having found the way to the Light!

which places would that be ,BioTube wrote:Some places consider this a casus bellijalu wrote:you really like pron with talking dogs?
just add a smiley and/or mix the three words he/she has used in whatever combination you like
(say " you really like to talk with your dog about pron " or such, its the same irony as dogs usually dont talk, at least over here).
greetings
Re: A Frenchie ! Run !
I wouldn't know, I've never seen it. However, provided it is a real talking dog and not one of those "furries", I'd watch it. Sod the porn, it's a talking dog!jalu wrote:you really like pron with talking dogs? OMG

If he's been accused copyright terrorism by phone line, he's probably had his internet access cut off and is now being tortured by Sarkozy himself in his secret "don't steal from my friends" torture chamber. If only France were a democracy so we would be free of these ridiculous totalitarian, anti-everyone laws. Oh, wait...gnudude wrote:where is frenchie anyway....
Hold on, somebody's fiercely knocking on the door.

Re: A Frenchie ! Run !
Has anyone's access beet cut of by Sarkozy yet? How bad is in practice this law?
Too bad Ségolène Royal didn't win the elections. She even sympathized with free software movement and had a talk with Stallman himself - way better than that bastard that is now at the controls.

Re: A Frenchie ! Run !
It hasn't been put into practice yet as the law has only been approved last week.sickie wrote:Has anyone's access beet cut of by Sarkozy yet? How bad is in practice this law?
However, I hope the first victim will take his case all the way to the European Court of Human Rights is necessary, who will then hopefully force France to bin this law.
Because, if I understand the legalese correctly, the Death By Disconnection verdict is ordered without the accused being able to defend himself. If the accused appeals, the case comes before a judge in a real hearing/trial, and the accused can be fined €300,000 or put into jail for two or three years. I can't see many people taking their chances with an appeal! I'm all for fighting for the principle but if it means I may spend two years (or even less) in prison as an innocent man, inbetween murderers and rapists, I think I'd definitely chicken out of the fight.
Ah well, thanks to a US company I'm somewhere near Manchester, UK, as far as the internet's concerned. I don't fileshare or commit other acts of copyright terrorism, but the stupid mass-surveillance this law implies was enough for me to shell out US$480 per year for it. I wonder if that's tax-deductible.
