Debian 10.10 new install

#1 Post by thomastt371 »

I have installed Debian 10.10 alongside Debbie LMDE 4 which I have been using successfully for some time. Can anyone advise me how to install a canon MG5750 in Debian 10.10 as I cant find any refernce to adding a printer on this system.I have looked in Administration but can only find Synaptic and there is nothing in the Control Panel? There idoesnt appear to be a package installer either so I have installed Gdebi via synaptic, unfortunately I cant install the Canon Printer and Scanner proprietry drivers which I have on a usb stick,as they dont appear to be recognised and wont install.Any help appreciated, rather disappointed with 10.10 as have no problems with Debbie LMDE..Any assistance appreciated Nichael New Member

I am intrigued by your USB stick not showing.

Does it show in your File Manager?

How was it formatted?

sorry for the misunderstanding. The usb stick is showing and readable.I have the canon proprietry drivers for MG5750 all in one printer scanner,Unfortunately Gdebi wont install them, says that they are unrecognised and not deb files..but they are as I can and have installed them on Linux Mint Debbi 4 LMDE!
