Since I'm new to Debian, I'd like to ask for some pointers in the right direction.
Is there an iso of Debian 11 Openbox or do I need to do a minimal install and go from there? If so, where can I find a list of packages that need to be installed to get a responsive system, I need the internet, basic browser, ability to connect the netbook to a whiteboard and a file manager.
Would this configuration work on a netbook with 2GB of RAM? I would like to have a responsive system. Thank you.

Debian 11 openbox iso?
Re: Debian 11 openbox iso?
Have a look here: https://www.how2shout.com/linux/how-to- ... -bullseye/
If you want a full ISO based on Debian with OpenBox ready to go, have a look at BunsenLabs: https://www.bunsenlabs.org/

FWIW Here are couple of nice Debian based OB implementations:dexl wrote: ↑2022-01-22 13:37 Since I'm new to Debian, I'd like to ask for some pointers in the right direction.

Re: Debian 11 openbox iso?
Hi,
@manyroads thanks for pointing to Linuxvillage.org and Bento Openbox.
I am the producer and maintainer of the Bento Openbox versions, built on Ubuntu and on antiX (which makes use of the Debian repositories). Bento Openbox is really "Openbox made easy for all", while Bunsenlabs provide a good build which is perhaps for users a bit more advanced.
Also it would be possible to make your own Debian with Openbox in minutes, using the FAI project : https://fai-project.org
The only thing that stops me for doing it for now, from porting the Bento Openbox recipe to a full blown Debian is the time lacking to create the packages for the default configuration, the default plymouth splash and a few system optimizations (sysctl.conf.d swappiness file, for example which I provide in all Bento Openbox spinoffs/remixes).
For anyone interested, the basis for Bento Openbox can be found at gitlab : https://gitlab.com/bento-openbox
I'll create one or more new branches whenever I can make time for it.

Cruchbang ++ Bullseye has been out for a good while now.
Sparky has one called OB Noir. Install the XFCE rolling, then restart and select it/login. Nice twist

Re: Debian 11 openbox iso?
As a long time openbox user, I prefer to do a minimal netinst and roll my own from there. Initially CrunchBang was my inspiration but having always been a DIY guy, I took that look and learned to configure it myself in a minimal fashion which wasn't hard as I don't have a wallpaper and have very little running at startup.
Once you decide which apps you need and have your menu set up, you can save your modified configuration files from /etc/xdg/openbox/ to ~/.config/openbox/ and just copy them over to each new install. I don't know what happened to OBMenu though, but it doesn't matter since XML isn't rocket surgery
