Icons and cursors, Debian 11

#1 Post by mrwc »

Hi there

New to Debian, installed 11 today. Gnome

Found the themes folder is usr, was able to add themes in there and install via gnome tweak

Also in usr is the icons folder. Adding icon sets in there in the same way (also tried using sudo nautilus) doesn't work. I'm guessing there is a different icon folder somewhere else?

I cannot find a cursor folder, so unsure where to put the ones I've downloaded

Have spent hours googling and trying, any advice appreciated!

Thanks

Yeah I tried /usr/share/icons but that didn't work

Also tried installing the snap store and installing themes from there, didn't work. Other things did but didn't add menu a entry

Put the icon folders in .icons in your /home, cursors go there also.
