The reference doct appears to be excellent. Is it avail in PDF for printing ? If not is there a better way to print a doct in Debian ?

You mean Debian package debian-refernce-en ?

If you install that, you'll find
/usr/share/debian-reference/debian-reference.en.pdf
I have read this reference a lot in the past. Don't know any better.

https://www.debian.org/doc/

Most of the Debian documentation can be download and printed.
The only pages I print are the Debian refcard and the APT, Dpkg Quick Reference sheet.
