Using NVIDIA PRIME Render Offload on shortcuts [solved!]

#1 Post by frazatto »

Hy, I just finished upgrading to Debian 11 and almost successfully have everything working regarding this (painful process) of making Nvidia to work as supposed to.

I'm following this https://wiki.debian.org/NVIDIA%20Optimus guide and I can correctly run processes one graphic card or the other using "__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia" before a command.

But I can't figured out how to use it on shortcuts!?

For instance, on the top menu, if I try to place it before a program name, it blocks me from saving the changes.
And if I try to use it inside bash scripts it just says the path does not exist when trying to run.

Anyone knows what I may be doing wrong?

Ok, this takes care of my problems:

Just need to place it in front of calls that I want to use render offload.
Slightly better than having to use the entire command to change the environment variables.
