Touchpad stucked
Touchpad stucked
I have this small bug that happens after a boot or reboot every now and then. The cursor gets stucked and does not move, I always try to unlock it with f10 on my notebook, but nothing happens. What solves it, is force reboot then perform a ctrl+alt+esc+power button, wait for the red power light to blink then it boots and touchpad mouse works again.

Re: Touchpad stucked
Try "lsusb -k" to see what driver it's using, then try unloading and unloading the module (driver) manually to see it that can unstick it.
You may have to learn how to open a terminal with keyboard only to do that, though.

Is usbutils installed?
https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/usbutils
-k is not a valid option with lsusb
https://manpages.debian.org/bullseye/us ... .8.en.html
Re: Touchpad stucked
It was not installed, now it is, should I perform a --verbose and share the output?4D696B65 wrote: ↑2021-09-13 18:17Is usbutils installed?

Re: Touchpad stucked
I am sure it is not a device connect on a USB port but a normal touchpad, like any laptop.

Re: Touchpad stucked
There is no such thing as a "normal touchpad". Integrated devices may have an internal USB connection. This is rather common among integrated SD card readers, wireless or bluetooth adapters.

Re: Touchpad stucked
For instance in my laptop, the integrated fingerprint reader and bluetooth adapter have USB connections :
You can check in the kernel log (as root) how your touchpad is connected :
Code: Select all
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0483:2016 STMicroelectronics Fingerprint Reader
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 0a5c:201e Broadcom Corp. IBM Integrated Bluetooth IV
Code: Select all
dmesg | grep -i touchpad
