debian 11 kde plasma
I have audacious installed and fluidsynth + soundfont.
In audacious I selected the soundfount (/usr/share/sounds/sf2/FluidR3_GM.sf2) in the settings of amidi player.
When I play a midi file I get the following error: [codefluidsynth: warning: SDL2 not initialized, SDL2 audio driver won't be usable
[/code]
Google did not provide me with a solid answer
edit:
it does work on my laptop (debian 11 LXDE)

Re: unable to play midi with audacious
Just guessing:
Install SDL2? Specifically search if SDL has any midi plugins.

Re: unable to play midi with audacious
I did a search is synaptic with 'sdl2 midi' and found: libsdl2-mixer-2.0-0
Installing this package fixed the problem (partially)!!
I now can play midi files with audacious but the error is stil there.
