I am running Debian Wheezy 7, 64-bit, with KDE. I installed Cantor and its backends for Maxima, Octave and R. When I evaluate a simple equation like
Code: Select all
>>> solve(x^2 = 1)
Code: Select all
\begin{eqnarray*}\left[ x=-1 , x=1 \right] \end{eqnarray*}
LaTeX is installed and in my path, as well as dvips.
PS: When evoking cantor from the CLI and entering the above code in cantor, I get the following message (on the CLI):
Code: Select all
(%i1) (%i1) This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-2.4-1.40.13 (TeX Live 2012/Debian)
restricted \write18 enabled.
entering extended mode

Any suggestions?
