Solvedtablet wacom intuos no longer recognized (KDE/stretch)

#1 Post by linuxsat »

Hello,

I'm on a Dell latitude 5480/i7/32Go (2017) Laptop with Stretch and KDE. My wacom intuos tablet was working perfectly until recently
I stoped using it by the end of July, maybe. I try to use it again some days ago and it seem no longer recognized? :(

I already check that it is properly working on a another computer (a mac).
I also remove and reinstall all the related packages:
libwacom-bin, libwacom-common, libwacom2 and xserver-xorg-input-wacom

but nothing change, I supect an update broke something.

All Ideas welcome!

I answer to myself,

finally as suspected an update of the kernel was responsible of that problem.
The solution is to update the driver module of the tablett. The one provided by Debian is 0.22 and (on Dec 11 2020) the current one is 0.46.

To update just follow the wiki of the Linux Wacom Project
https://linuxwacom.github.io/
entitled "Kernel Driver".

On another hand, it seems that the X Driver is correctly updated by Stretch.
Thanks those who read that post! :D
