Debian Bullseye LXQT key binding to an app?

#1 Post by k829king »

So if SMPlayer has the focus the multimedia keys on my keyboard for pause/play, previous track, next track and stop all work as expected.
Is there some way to always direct these keys to SMPlayer even when it does not have the focus?

maybe re-solved... So I found SMPlayer does have an option as a tick box against "Use the multimedia keys as global shortcuts"
Found it in Options->Preferences and then Keyboard and mouse section near bottom.
This worked as global keys on the first day fine. But occasionally it seems to stop working between some reboots, but unticking, applying and re-ticking and applying restores it.
