Intel sda: works fine but High definition controller off?

#1 Post by deco33000 »

Hi,

My laptop works fine, I have sound in both headphone and speakers.

What bothers me is the option TU106 High Definition Audio Controller has only "OFF" as an option in the Audio settings.

I wonder if I am missing something quality wise.
  • Debian version:
Stable.
  • lspci output:

Code: Select all

00:1f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation Cannon Lake PCH cAVS (rev 10)
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Cannon Lake PCH cAVS
	Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel
	Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel, snd_soc_skl, snd_sof_pci_intel_cnl
--
01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation TU106 High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1)
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. TU106 High Definition Audio Controller
	Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel
	Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel
And why is it locked "Off" with no other option.
  • Kernel:

Code: Select all

5.18.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 5.18.2-1~bpo11+1 (2022-06-14) x86_64 GNU/Linux
  • output of aplay -l:

Code: Select all

I tried adding

Code: Select all

options snd-hda-intel model=auto
(no change) and asus-zenbook (sound could not be managed anymore) in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf but no change.

Thanks :)
