Screen power saver doesn't re-engage

#1 Post by smurf »

Hi,
the setting: I've set my system (Gnome, Wayland, Bullseye) to not go to sleep on inactivity (it's also the multimedia server …) but to lock the screen after five minutes. So far so good.

In the evening I lock the screen, the screen power saver engages and turns the screen off, all is good. However, if the screen turns back on for whatever reason (desktop notification, cat jiggles mouse, …) it won't turn off again, lighting up the empty room all night long.

The standard solution (

Code: Select all

dbus-send --print-reply --dest=org.gnome.SessionManager /org/gnome/SessionManager org.gnome.SessionManager.GetInhibitors
) returns an empty list, and "systemd-inhibit --list" doesn't show anything that looks suspicious either.

Thus … any ideas?
