Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if Debian functions fully on a Microsoft Surface tablet (model 3, I think)?
The reason I ask is because I have installed antiX-19 (which it says is based on MEPIS and Debian Testing) on my Surface, and most things seem to work (not sure it recognises the battery) but the sound doesn't - antiX Control Centre->Sound Card Chooser reports only one card (chtrt5645:chtrt5645 – chtrt5645) but Test Sound produces a window that immediately disappears and no sound (with or without headphones attached).
So I would really just like to know if anybody has Debian working with sound on a Microsoft Surface (model 3) tablet?
Thanks very much,
3g

Re: Sound on Surface (Model 3?)
OK, thanks.
I've just run "uname -a" on my antiX-19 system and it reported:
So I guess I'm using a Surface 3 specific kernel, and therefore the sound should work. Oh well, more investigation needed!

Re: Sound on Surface (Model 3?)
Why do you guess that? It looks like an AntiX kernel. "surface3" is your hostname which can be anything you set it to.3guesses wrote: ↑2021-10-22 21:03 I've just run "uname -a" on my antiX-19 system and it reported:
