Intel Corporation Comet Lake PCH-LP cAVS [8086:02c8]

#1 Post by pit »

With this card in the same X13 Yoga Gen1 from the topic about the LTE modem I first didn't have any alsa devices in the list. Googling the solution I found one with adding snd_hda_intel.dmic_detect=0 to /etc/default/grub:GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT/update-grub and that worked for getting output device, however a built-in micro is not present in alsa devices still. That's solvable with external headset for sure but if anybody did have experience with this card and such troubles would be glad to learn how to fix it on a OS level,
thank you

sof firmware package was not installed and card therefore wasn't able to work in dmic mode, while using old dsp driver caused missing mic device as old driver does not support digital mic, Reverting settings in grub config to defaults and installing sof firmware package fixed the issue, Can be closed.

Thanks for updating the thread. Have you identified the exact missing firmware name and the name of debian firmware package as reference for other users ?
